The Launch of Beyond Choice

My book, Beyond Choice, was officially launched at the Lenox Hill Bookstore on Monday evening Feb 2, 2004. The store was packed with over 100 friends and colleagues, and the store practically sold out of books. I spoke for about ten minutes about what caused me to write the book. I thank everyone who came and bought books. My wife Jeannette thanks you too, since it’s her bookstore!

On Wednesday it was off to Corning, New York. My publisher tells me that no one has ever been to Corning on a book tour. I insisted because Corning is my grandmother’s birthplace. There are no statutes or signs announcing that Corning is the hometown of Margaret Sanger, an oversight that I would like to remedy someday. At any rate, the local Planned Parenthood hosted a festive luncheon for me for their staff, board and major donors at the Corning Country Club. The snow was about a foot deep, so the excellent golf course was not to be seen. What I did get to see was the Corning Glass Museum which is spectacular and worth the trip in itself. The staff at Planned Parenthood have done a wonderful job in increasing the number of patients and in increasing the services offered. They are a credit to Planned Parenthood.
